Key Elements - People
These elements evaluate the effectiveness of management processes which support people to become effective in implementing energy savings. This is a key issue in many energy management programs.
  • The One-2-Five approach aims to ensure that major energy users;
  • Become accountable for their energy use, and
  • Have the tools manage costs effectively.
This element also examines the way that people in the organisation are trained and motivated to drive energy efficiency (and supply) improvements. While it seems self evident that skilled, motivated people are the basis for efficiency improvement only a small number of operations provide adequate training to develop skills to the level required to manage energy effectively.

The element also examines allocation of resources to manage energy. This is a major issue in organisations where manning levels are very constrained.
