Key Elements - People

The ‘People’ element in One-2-Five® Water evaluates the effectiveness of the organizations management processes in place to support effective implementation of water savings. This is a key issue in many water management programs.

The One-2-Five® approach ensures that major water users;

  • Become accountable for their water use, and

  • Have the tools to manage costs effectively.

This element also examines methods of training within the organization and ways to motivate staff to drive water efficiency improvements. While it seems self evident that skilled and motivated people are the basis for efficiency improvement, only a small number of operations provide adequate training to develop these skills to the level required to ensure effective water management.

The ‘People’ element also examines the allocation of resources to manage water. This is a major issue within organizations where manning levels are very constrained.
