Key Elements - Financial Management

The ‘Financial Management’ element in One-2-Five® Water evaluates the effectiveness of management processes for allocating capital funds to water projects. This element also evaluates the approach used to establish water expense budgets to effectively track and manage water costs.

Some organizations require water management projects to achieve higher returns (shorter paybacks) than operational projects, such as expanding output. Effective organizations use a balanced approach to assess the financial benefits of projects versus the organisation investment criteria, and assess the water efficiency impact of new capital projects. As wastewater discharge and related pollution becomes more important, effective organizations will include these emerging risks in the assessment of all future projects.
