| Key Elements - Plant Design, Selection, and Innovation | |
|
These elements evaluate the utilization of
technology for energy efficiency, covering existing plant and new plant design and
specification. To achieve best practice energy efficiency it is not sufficient to have
good systems: the technology employed also must be energy efficient.
It is unfortunate that many organizations are forced to operate with older plant designed with relatively poor energy efficiency, but it is unforgivable business practice for plant designed today not to incorporate energy efficient technology and practices. Effective organisations buy energy efficient new equipment as a matter of course and the formal processes used to ensure this are understood by all relevant staff and are continually reviewed as new products/technologies enter the market.
