| Key Elements - Plant Design, Selection, and Innovation | |
|
These elements evaluate the utilization of technology for water efficiency, covering existing plant and new plant design and specification. To achieve best practice water efficiency it is not sufficient to have good systems: the technology employed must also be water efficient. It is unfortunate that many organizations are forced to operate with older plants designed with relatively poor water efficiency, but it is unforgivable business practice for plants designed today not to incorporate water efficient technology and practices. Effective organizations buy new equipment that is water efficient as a matter of course. The formal processes used to ensure understanding by all relevant staff are continually reviewed as new products/technologies enter the market.
